PQ type power inductors play a crucial role in regulating current flow.
Firstly,PQ type power inductors have the characteristic of hindering current changes,which is based on the principle of electromagnetic induction.When the current in the circuit increases,according to Lenz's law,the inductor will generate an induced electromotive force in the opposite direction of the current change.This induced electromotive force will hinder the rapid increase of current,allowing the rate of current rise to be controlled.For example,in a DC-DC conversion circuit containing PQ type power inductors,when the input voltage suddenly increases and the input current tends to increase,the inductor generates a reverse electromotive force to control the sharp rise in current,thereby avoiding damage to downstream circuits due to transient excessive current.
Secondly,in the case of reduced current,PQ type power inductors will also play a role.It will generate a positive induced electromotive force to hinder the decrease of current.This is like setting up a"dam"in a"current river".When the"river water"(current)needs to rapidly decrease,the"dam"(inductor)will release a certain amount of"stored water"(stored magnetic energy)to replenish the"river water",making the current drop more smoothly.This characteristic is very effective in stabilizing current fluctuations in circuits.For example,in some electronic device power circuits that require stable output current,PQ type power inductors can keep the output current relatively stable when the load changes.
Furthermore,PQ type power inductors can also be used for filtering.In an AC circuit,it can generate different impedances for current components of different frequencies.For high-frequency current components,the impedance of the inductor is relatively high,which can effectively block the passage of high-frequency current,while for low-frequency current components,its impedance is relatively small,and low-frequency current can pass smoothly.In this way,by designing the parameters of the inductor reasonably,unwanted high-frequency currents can be filtered out,and only useful low-frequency currents can be used to power the load,thereby achieving regulation of the current composition.
